Mum-of-three, 24, accused of running down and killing young mother in her SUV outside a Daisy Hill, Brisbane daycare centre in alleged hit-and-run murder

  • Kiesha Thompson, 23, suspected of murder
  • Larissa Sant, 24, has been charged

The woman accused of murdering a young mother turns out to be a mother of three and a petting zoo assistant.

Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant, 24, allegedly deliberately drove her Toyota Landcruiser Prado into Kiesha Thompson, 23, as she walked home on Friday.

Ms Thompson was on the pavement after dropping her daughter off at daycare in Daisy Hill, south of Brisbane, when she was reportedly struck.

Mrs Thompson died in hospital that night and police later charged Sant with murder.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that Sant has three young sons and worked at a petting zoo in Brisbane.

Her social media accounts are filled with selfies and posts about her stormy love life, her desires for relationships and videos of herself dancing.

“How am I supposed to choose when the time comes?”

Police suspect the crash was premeditated and that Sant had been driving the silver four-wheel drive SUV in the area for an extended period of time before the crash on Daisy Hill.

“We maintain that the incident was not in fact an accident and that the young lady who tragically lost her life was in fact a target,” Detective Inspector Chris Knight told reporters on Sunday.

“That’s why we don’t believe it was an unfortunate, random traffic accident.”

Sant was remanded in custody after her case came before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday.

She was unable to apply for bail due to the seriousness of the charges.

Police said they seized a damaged silver Toyota Prado in Goodna, west of Brisbane, on Saturday, while the 24-year-old was arrested a few suburbs away in Yamanto.

The police describe the incident as anything but typical, but do not want to make any statements about a possible relationship between the two.

When asked if there was domestic violence involved, Detective Inspector Knight replied: ‘It’s not that simple’.

Police are seeking dashcam footage and are asking the driver, owner or passengers of a white, unbranded van seen in the area shortly before 9 a.m. Friday to come forward.

Sant’s case has been adjourned and will appear in Beenleigh District Court on July 31.
