BOVINA, Madam. — Seven people were killed and dozens injured in Mississippi Saturday morning after a bus overturned on Interstate 20, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Six passengers were pronounced dead at the scene and another died at the hospital, a news release said. The bus was traveling westbound when it left the freeway near Bovina in Warren County and rolled over. No other vehicle was involved.

Thirty-seven passengers were taken to hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson. The department is continuing its investigation and has not released the names of the deceased. No other information was immediately available.
