Kelly Stafford revealed the one piece of advice she wishes she had been given when she entered the NFL world as the partner of LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
In an interview with E! NewsThe ‘Morning After’ host recalls getting caught up in the flood of opinions as Matthew’s stardom blossomed in the big leagues.
“One thing I wish I had said before I started this is, ‘Don’t lose yourself,’” she said.
“I would say, ‘Don’t try to become the person that everyone wants you to be. ‘ ‘Cause that’s what I did and I lost who I was. And that goes for personality, looks, everything.
“Everyone’s going to tell you what to look like, what to say, what not to say, all that stuff. And when you start listening, you lose the values and everything that you have that makes you who you are, and makes you the person that your husband fell in love with.”

The couple began dating in college, married in 2015 and have four daughters
“You can’t filter out all the noise, but try to listen to yourself before you listen to anyone else,” Kelly continued.
The former Georgia cheerleader said she’s not in a position to give advice to Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes because she’s “made the same mistake so many times before.”
Kelly made unpleasant headlines in June when she revealed that she dated backup quarterback Matthews in college to make him jealous.
She previously drew criticism for saying the Super Bowl-winning quarterback struggled to connect with his younger teammates in August 2023.
Kelly and Matthew married in 2015 and have four daughters together: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, 6-year-old Hunter, and 4-year-old Tyler.
She’ll be touring her podcast this fall, kicking off in Detroit on September 7. Kelly previously spoke on her podcast about the challenges of living in Matthew’s shadow.
