Manuel Neuer has targeted former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel.

Bayern are the only unbeaten side in the Bundesliga this season after a great start under new boss Vincent Kompany.

The Bavarians’ winning streak ended with a 1-1 draw against champions Bayern Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.

Neuer says their success on the pitch so far this season has been down to ‘sticking to our style’, something he suggests they failed to do last season under Tuchel.

‘We have that confidence back. No matter which team we play, even Leverkusen,” the veteran goalkeeper said.

‘We stick to our style, we have been dominant. That is something different than before.

‘The security that Kompany gives every individual is noticeable on the field, the connection we have. We play as a team!’

Bayern Munich had a difficult season last season, finishing third in the Bundesliga and 18 points behind Leverkusen.

Their German giants were also knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals by eventual winners Real Madrid.

Bayern and Tuchel had already agreed to ‘mutually terminate our cooperation’ after ‘an open, good conversation’ in February.

Under Kompany’s management, they have won six of their seven games in all competitions so far, including a 5-0 win over Werder Bremen and a 9-2 victory against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Bayern will look to extend their unbeaten start when they travel to take on Aston Villa on Wednesday.
