Manchester United are anxiously awaiting the test results of Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro after both players limped off the field during the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Hojlund fired United ahead in the 10th minute, but was forced off five minutes later after suffering what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Asked how he felt as he walked to the team bus afterwards, Hojlund replied: ‘We’ll see.’

Yoro, who joined United from Lille for £59million, was making his second appearance since joining United when he was taken off in the 33rd minute after receiving treatment on the pitch.

Manager Erik ten Hag said: ‘Of course it is too early and we have to wait for another 24 hours, then we will hopefully know more. We were cautious, especially with Leny, because he has only done 50 percent of the (training) sessions. He has to come, but let’s stay positive and see what comes out of it.’

Ten Hag was unhappy with Arsenal’s equaliser through Gabriel Jesus. He appeared to be offside when he equalised in the 26th minute, only for Gabriel Martinelli to score the winning goal just before the end.

“I think the level from both sides was very good for the third week of preparation, but in the first half I thought we were the better team,” said Ten Hag.

‘We scored a really good goal, a really good ball in the back from (Marcus) Rashford and then Hojlund with a really good move and a finish. I was very pleased.

‘We also created a few good chances, but then we conceded a goal, which was offside.

‘The second half was different. It was a mixed team and it was the first time they played together. We had a player who played full-back for the first time in his life (James Scanlon) and then you have to play against experienced Premier League players, that’s not easy. Overall I think the team did a good job and we could have drawn this game.’
