The University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks aren’t expected to win many games this season, but they are winning off the field in terms of names.

That’s because the Warhawks are led into battle every week by a quarterback with a household name: General Booty.

According to a report from a college football insider Matt ZenitzBooty is expected to be ULM’s starting quarterback this season.

He spent his last two seasons at the University of Oklahoma, and was benched before entering the transfer market this season.

Booty played only two games during his time at Oklahoma and did not keep any statistics.

Many people on social media celebrated the decision, but also joked about his name.

“I would follow him into battle anywhere, anytime,” one user wrote on Twitter.

“YES, THE BOOTY SHOW IN MONROE IS ON,” said another.

An Oklahoma State fan wrote, “So many intermediate programs GB had to go through before he found a home. I finally see him as a serious program.”

Before coming to Northern Louisiana, Booty began his career at the junior college level at Tyler Junior College in Texas, where he threw for over 3,000 yards and scored 25 touchdowns in 2021.

He then moved to Oklahoma, where he spent two years on the bench before transferring to ULM.

General Booty has an NFL background in his family, as his uncle is former Minnesota Vikings quarterback John David Booty.
