Liverpool ‘put Jurgen Klopp’s £4m seven-bedroom mansion up for sale after new boss Arne Slot turned it down’ and chose to live away from Merseyside’s Millionaire’s Row

Liverpool have put Jurgen Klopp’s £4million mansion up for sale after his successor Arne Slot turned down the chance to move in, according to reports.

Slot has stepped into Klopp’s former role with relative ease, having guided the Reds to second place in the league following a strong start to his debut season at the club.

However, that appears to be as far as the Dutchman is willing to emulate his predecessor after turning down the chance to move to his old home.

According to The sunSlot and his wife Mirjam were shown around the seven-bed house, but are not enthusiastic about it and decide on their next move.

The outlet claims the Merseyside giants have put the gated property on the market, ending a 20-year association with the house.

A source said: ‘It was seen by the club as an ideal base for new managers.

‘Arne was offered it when he took over in the summer, but chose to live elsewhere. As a result, the club has decided to cut losses.”

The mansion has three lounges, a home cinema, an indoor pool, a landscaped garden and is located on one of Merseyside’s most expensive roads, Victoria Road, often referred to as ‘Millionaires Row’.

Liverpool bought it from ex-manager Brendan Rodgers, who in turn bought it from former captain Steven Gerrard.

Rodgers was fired in October 2015, but kept the property and rented it to Klopp.

Four years later, Liverpool bought the property as an investment and reportedly allowed Klopp to remain rent-free.

Klopp subsequently lived in Formby with his wife Ulla Sandrock until his departure from the Reds earlier this year.

Ahead of his arrival at Liverpool, Slot revealed he had made contact with Klopp – but apparently not with the aim of buying a house.

Slot said at the time: ‘I think it is normal that when you go to a new club, you contact the current coach.

‘I also did that at Feyenoord. It’s normal, with all the knowledge someone has from being at the club for a few years, or nine in this case, that you would contact them.”
