The ambassador posted a number of photos and videos of elephants in her Instagram post to draw attention to her cause.

She has been appointed the latest Global Supporter of conservation charity Space For Giants, with Witcher actor Bart Edwards joining her on the journey.

In her last post she wrote: ‘Proud to support @spaceforgiants. Protect their Pathways’ Campaign on this World Elephant Day.

‘During my time with the SFG team, I have learned how many threats elephants face, from habitat loss to competing for resources and the land they call home. Without urgent protection, we risk losing them forever.

‘Thank you so much x’

The actress posted her message on social media after updating her fans about her travels in Kenya last week.

Lily gave a glimpse into her journey, sharing photos of her trip, enjoying a hot drink on top of a mountain, and writing in her diary.

She looked fresh as she settled into a Kenya-themed chair overlooking the vast and beautiful landscape.

Lily said at the time: ‘I feel incredibly honoured to be a global supporter of Space For Giants and help achieve their goals of protecting Africa’s remaining natural ecosystems, the large wildlife populations that live there and the people who depend on the land.’

Lily continues: ‘Earlier this year I had the privilege of visiting some of the important wildlife reserves that have been restored and protected by Space for Giants in Kenya.

‘More than 90% of Africa’s 8,400 protected landscapes receive no funding and many natural ecosystems are not protected at all due to enormous human pressure. This is putting wildlife such as elephants, rhinos and big cats in dire straits.

Dr Max Graham, CEO and Founder of Space for Giants, said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Lily for taking on this vital role to support us and our frontline teams in conserving Africa’s last remaining natural ecosystems and the big wildlife that call them home.’

‘Space For Giants, with its ongoing commitment to protecting Africa’s natural heritage across 10 African countries, welcomes Lily as a valuable addition to its global conservation efforts.’

One of the Space For Giants projects Lily encountered during her visit to Kenya was the reintroduction of 21 eastern black rhinos into the Loisaba Conservancy.

The rhinos had been on the brink of extinction due to poaching for more than half a century.

Lily reflected: ‘Without Space For Giants’ tireless work on the ground every day, our children would only see these incredible animals in books.’

The announcement comes as Lily continues filming for the American biographical drama Swiped.

Swiped tells the story of Whitney Wolfe Herd, who was forced to leave the world’s most popular dating app, Tinder, after she was sexually harassed by a co-worker.

She co-founded Tinder and launched Bumble just months after Whitney (35) left the company. Bumble is popular for its feminine approach and is currently the second most used dating app in the world.

Lily is one of the producers of Swiped, which is distributed to the American streaming service Hulu by 20th Century Studios.

Swiped is set to be released sometime in 2025 and filming began on May 15th.

The film was announced in March and the script was written by director Rachel and Bill Parker and Kim Caramele. Swiped’s production company is Ethea Entertainment.

Lily currently has two films in post-production: the comedy thriller Greedy People starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and EastEnder’s Himesh Patel, and the thriller Relay starring Riz Ahmed and Sam Worthington.
