Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain announced the surprise birth of her and husband Riley Hawk’s first child on Saturday.
The 32-year-old daughter of late Nirvana frontman and actress Courtney Love took to Instagram to share the shocking news with her 1.6 million followers.
She wrote in the caption, “9/17/2024 Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk. Welcome to the most beautiful son in the world. We love you more than anything.”
Riley’s father, famed skateboarder Tony Hawk, joined the comments, jokingly writing about his firstborn grandchild, “My favorite grandson!”
Cobain reportedly tied the knot with Hawk in October 2023 in a ceremony led by REM singer Michael Stipe.

The teen left a series of crying and black heart emojis under the post, which consisted of several black and white photos of Ronin.
Frances reposted the upload to her Instagram Stories and added John Lennon’s 1980 song Beautiful Boy.
Cobain and Hawk did not announce that they were expecting a child, leaving fans completely blindsided by the news.

The new mom added, “Welcome to the most beautiful son in the world. We love you more than anything.”
