Jessica Simpson revealed in her latest social media update that her pre-teen daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, is already taller than her.
On Sunday, the actress shared a photo on Instagram of herself posing with her eldest daughter, now 12, in church.
In the photo, Simpson’s tiny child grins as she stands next to her, showing off her height, next to the singer, who is 5ft 3in tall.
This came shortly after she shared a photo dump from her spring break in April. In one of the photos, Maxwell appeared to be several inches taller than her barefoot mother.
Last year, Simpson even shared a photo of her daughter, who was 11 at the time, showing off her strength and lifting her mother completely off the ground.

In the Blonde Ambition star’s latest social media update, she was seen flashing a broad smile and flaunting her glamorous figure in a black floral dress.
Her shiny, long blonde hair fell around her in a perfectly straight hairstyle.
Meanwhile, Maxwell had pulled her hair into a slicked-back bun.
Simpson wore a light makeup look with full, dark lashes and a nude pink lipstick.
She also wore oversized sunglasses with clear frames.
In addition to Maxi, Simpson also has an 11-year-old son Ace Knute and a 5-year-old daughter Birdie with her husband Eric Johnson.
The rest of their family was not visible in the photo they took in the church.
In January 2021, Simpson shared that the kids are “growing up so fast” and that she values the small but precious moments with them.
In the photo, Simpson’s tiny tot grinned as she stood next to her, showing off her height next to the singer, who is 5ft 3in tall.

“When I hear my kids giggling, it’s a really healing sound,” she told Shape in January 2021. “It’s contagious,” she added.
“My whole family starts giggling together. It’s like a therapy for happy laughter.”
And last May, Simpson shared a photo of Maxwell picking her up again and wrote a lengthy caption in which she raved about her daughter.
She shared a long list of traits she recognizes in preteens, writing that Maxwell is “enchanting, steadfast, intelligent, passionate, generous, loving, devoted, inspiring, seductive, confident, empathetic, powerful, intuitive, beautiful, DETERMINED, enlightened and FULL OF Amazement.”
“On May 1, 2012, my firstborn, Maxwell Drew Johnson, came into this life as a sentient being seemingly not of this world,” she began. “In the purest form, her spirit, heart, and soul rose from the grace of heaven to shine in profound ways. I felt her purpose in my life when I was a child and I prayed every day and night for my future daughter.”
Simpson added: ‘I know most mothers would say slow down when their baby turns 11, but I’ve known her my whole life. When I look back on 30 years of conversations with God in my journal, it’s clear that Maxwell was already in my heart and my purpose.’
She wrote that Maxwell is, among other things, “enchanting, steadfast, intelligent” and “passionate”

The proud mother then told how they celebrated her birthday.
‘Her birthday was FRANKLIN FARM LIFE HAPPY! She told me after she blew out her 11 candles…”I made a wish that was for me and you and actually for the whole family” I told Maxi it had to be your wish and she said “we have the same wishes mom.”
“Three days later, on our way back to Cali, she heard me reading a message from my dad and my mom, who was sitting next to her, asked, ‘GiGi, if my birthday wish has already come true, can I say it out loud or do I still have to keep it to myself?’ My mom said she could share it with anyone she wanted, especially if it had already come true… Maxwell’s birthday wish was for her Papa Joe’s bone cancer treatment to work,” Simpson wrote.
“It did. Thank you Maxi Drew for using your wish for our family and especially my father. You are enchanting, steadfast, intelligent, passionate, generous, loving, devoted, inspiring, seductive, confident, empathetic, powerful, intuitive, beautiful, DETERMINED, enlightened and FULL OF WONDER. A child’s faith is what keeps us all ALIVE.”
