Joe Biden suspects two old allies are behind a campaign to impeach him, insiders have revealed.
The president is currently recovering from Covid-19 at his beach house in Rehoboth, Delaware, but is said to still be thinking about the betrayal.
Several elected Democrats have publicly called on him to resign after his disastrous performance during the presidential debate with Donald Trump last month.
The calls have only increased in recent days, with leaks to the media further damaging the president’s prospects.
Insiders told the New York Times that Biden suspects former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is stirring things up, with former running mate Barack Obama acting as a “puppet master” behind the scenes.

Both politicians, as well as Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, have recently been in the news for predicting a crushing defeat for the Democrats in November.
Obama’s former advisers have also spoken out publicly against the president, without their former boss making any comment.
Biden and Obama built a friendship by working closely together during the former president’s two terms, but he has offered little public support.
The two appeared together at a glamorous Hollywood fundraising event in June, where Obama was reportedly “shocked” by Biden’s decline.
Obama reportedly told allies that the president should seriously consider whether to stay in the race amid growing speculation that he could withdraw within days.
The Washington Post reported Thursday that Obama — who has spoken to Biden only once since the disastrous debate — believes Biden’s path to victory has been significantly shortened, but that he believes the president himself should make the decision to resign.
Meanwhile, there are growing public calls from incumbent Democrats for Biden to withdraw, especially from Pelosi.
The president reportedly noted that those who recently came forward, including Sen. Martin Heinrich of New Mexico, Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Rep. Adam B. Schiff and at least nine Democrats in the House of Representatives, including Rep. Zoe Lofgren, all have close ties to Pelosi.
Montana Sen. Jon Tester is the second Senate Democrat to call on the president to drop his re-election bid

Additionally, Montana Sen. Jon Tester this week became the second Senate Democrat to call on the president to end his re-election campaign.
On Friday, Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton reiterated his concerns in an article in the Boston Globe, reporting that his “mentor and friend” Biden did not appear to recognize him at a D-Day commemoration in France in June.
“Of course that can happen as people get older, but when I followed the disastrous debate a few weeks ago, I have to admit that what I saw in Normandy was part of a deeper problem,” Moulton said.
Despite the growing cacophony of dissenting voices, Biden has maintained that he plans to continue in the race. His team, however, has vehemently denied that an announcement could come in the coming days.
“I look forward to returning to the campaign trail next week to further expose the threat posed by Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, while also making the case for my own record and the vision I have for America: a vision where we save our democracy, protect our rights and freedoms, and create opportunity for all,” Biden said Friday.
Campaign chair Jennifer O’Malley Dillon told MSNBC that the president is “absolutely” still in the race, though she acknowledged the challenging circumstances of late.
“The American people know the president is older,” she said. “They see that.
“They knew that before the debate. Yes, of course, we have a lot of work to do to make sure that we reassure the American people that he’s old, but he can get the job done and he can win.”
