A TikToker who boasted to her fans about a week of first dates with potential lovers was left stunned when her plans fell through.
New York City-based influencer Isabelle Graff, 24, revealed to her nearly 560,000 followers that she had “never been asked on more dates” than last weekend.
She said her calendar had two dates marked for the coming week after her neighbor helped her search her Hinge profile and chat with hundreds of men.
“I think there were about 2,000 quiet guys in my likes,” Graff explained in her “get ready with me” style TikTok. “I can’t believe it was that easy all the time.”
“I have therapy and dates this week,” she added.
Isabelle Graff, 24, was shocked when her dating plans fell apart after she posted about it on TikTok
Graff told her nearly 560,000 TikTok followers that she had “2,000 guys” like her on Hinge
After her first dating-themed TikTok, she asked her followers if it would be appropriate to invite her first dates to influencer PR events she had planned to attend in the city.
In another post, she described an elaborate plan to meet a man she was texting. Her idea included lying about organizing an event and waiting for the perfect time to text him to meet her.
Graff said, “I’m laughing at myself because this is so weird, thank God he doesn’t have TikTok.”
But in an ‘annoying’ update, the influencer revealed her arrangements fell apart after a potential date heard about her TikTok dating miniseries.
After looking her up on social media and seeing her brag about her upcoming dates, the unnamed love interest backed out.
She explained how, after posting the video about how she expected her date to go, she went to a bar and essentially stood up.
Graff texted her date and he didn’t respond for two hours, she told her viewers.
The irate woman said: ‘I don’t think he realized how deeply into social media I am because he only followed me on Instagram.
“I think he downloaded TikTok and looked a little weird.”
He told her that he was a “private” person and that he didn’t like how open she was about her life — especially her dating life — on social media.
Graff raged, “I’m just so annoyed and honestly confused because I have so many friends who have broadcast so much sex on the internet and still have boyfriends and go on dates and have sex and talk about it and it’s never a problem. ‘
Graff said she has even been “dumped” because of her social media presence in the past. But she has no plans to change her habits for the sake of a date.
“It’s just not worth it to me and I feel like a man who has confidence in himself and the way he treats women wouldn’t be so damn weird about this.”
Graff’s fans were quick to defend her actions, while others disagreed with her openness
In her comments section, fans flocked to show their support for the disappointed TikToker.
One user wrote: ‘They are intimidated by your success. Keep doing what you are passionate about! The right one will encourage you on your journey.”
“You don’t dim your light for any man,” another added.
Another commenter shared some words of encouragement: “Awwww, you’re absolutely right. The right one doesn’t matter. Keep your heads up and thank you for choosing us.”
But not everyone understood Graff’s perspective equally.
One person wrote: ‘I don’t really understand why she’s so concerned about this. Some (most) people don’t want to be broadcast all over the internet and have their private lives out there.
“He probably also saw the video she made earlier today about her weird date plan, where she lied to him about being at an event when she was actually completely free and chose to leave him at the last minute.” texting where she could meet her roommate. part of the date.’
Others noted that Graff’s approach was “immature.”
“I swear she’s 24 and later 13.” a used serif.
Another said: ‘She’s actually angry that other people have preferences and boundaries. Posting the intimate details of your life is unusual, no longer private.”
One person even praised the guy who almost dated Graff for backing away: “This is actually so annoying. He made the right choice!’
