Hyatt Regency Perth to close after 36 years

  • Perth CBD hotel to close on August 31

The Hyatt Regency Perth is closing its doors after 36 years, having housed stars including Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.

The hotel in Adelaide Terrace, in the city’s CBD, will officially close on August 31, after Singapore-based owner Tuan Sing Holdings Limited announced it would terminate its contract with the US hotel company.

The hotel and Tuan Sing said they will contact guests who have made future bookings and will also try to redeploy staff.

Tuan Sing said the decision was taken “as part of the long-term strategy” and that after the hotel closes its doors it will “undergo a new positioning and name change”.
