Hugh Jackman reveals what he REALLY thinks of State of Origin following the NSW Blues’ sensational victory

Hugh Jackman has revealed what he really thinks of State of Origin after New South Wales’ win over Queensland.

The 55-year-old Sydney-born Hollywood actor celebrated his victory after proudly watching the Blues win in one of the greatest and most dramatic football games ever.

The Wolverine star took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday night to say he was very happy with the result, showing his support for the Blues as he watched the game on television.

‘Historic decisive victory! At Lang Park,’ wrote Hugh.

“Go the blues!!!!!!! This is the greatest rivalry in all of sports.”

Outside of Origin, Hugh is known to be a fan of the Manly Sea Eagles NRL team.

New South Wales enjoyed their famous win over Queensland on Wednesday night after the Blues produced a performance only three visiting teams have achieved in Brisbane before.

Michael Maguire’s team’s 14-6 victory over their formidable rivals the Maroons saw the State of Origin shield return to the south. Their victory was only the third time the team had defeated Queensland on hostile soil.

Wednesday night’s result will long be remembered for the Blues’ tragic events. Jarome Luai played a crucial role in securing victory, with his line-breaking burst giving Bradman Best the first try of the match for NSW.

Angus Crichton capped a great run, being crowned Wally Lewis Medal winner, the series’ best player, while recalled midfielder Bradman Best also performed superbly in filling the void left by Latrell Mitchell.

Fullback Dylan Edwards (236 metres) was named man of the match, securing his second win from two Origin appearances.

Winger Zac Lomax put himself on the spot by taking a penalty from the sideline to level the score at 2-2 early in the second half, before firing home another from the other end after Best’s attempt.

Halfback Mitchell Moses threw a spanner in the works by dancing over the line, but finished the game on the sidelines with an arm injury.

Cameron Murray and Jeremiah Nanai were jailed as tempers flared in a first-half State of Origin clash that also took place off the touchline.

Queensland backrower Nanai caused a push and pull between his captain Daly Cherry-Evans and NSW playmaker Jarome Luai as he charged towards the pair, before Murray sensationally came off the bench to join the action.

Players streamed in from all directions – some even in suits, as if they weren’t part of the team – while television screens and chairs were scattered among the flying bodies.
