Heartbreak High star Ayesha Madon comes out as bisexual in tell-all interview: ‘My first kiss was with a girl’

Australian actress Ayesha Madon has come out as bisexual about her sexuality in a revealing interview.

The 26-year-old Heartbreak High star, who is best known for her role as Amerie Wadia in the Netflix comedy, revealed that she only admitted to being bisexual “three years ago.”

However, the Logie Award nominee said the signs were always there as she admitted her “first kiss was with a girl,” according to Gay times on Monday.

“I’ve actually never spoken about my sexuality before, so this is quite new. I only came out and said I’m bisexual two or three years ago,” she told the publication.

‘It feels recent. It’s kind of interesting to see myself gravitating towards [girls]. My first kiss was with a girl.’

The singer went on to say that she was 11 and in acting class when she had her first kiss “with a girl called Louise,” who she “was completely in love with.”

Ayesha recalls her crush chewing gum when the actress pretended to “try the gum” as an excuse to share an “amazing” kiss with her.

Despite having different experiences with ‘liking’ other girls, Ayesha admitted that heteronormativity and competence [compulsory heterosexuality] difficult to understand her own feelings and sexuality.

“Growing up, I felt like I was conditioned or manipulated into thinking I was straight,” she said.

But now Ayesha has admitted that the signs were always there, as she has ‘had a crush on girls all her life’.

The actress rose to fame in 2022 when she played the tough lead role in the popular reboot of Heartbreak High.

With the third and final season of the series now confirmed, Ayesha also recently released the second single from her upcoming EP.

The AAA Award nominee released her debut single Eulogy earlier this year and has big plans to realize her musical aspirations, according to The Daily Telegraph.

She also told the newspaper that she plans to move abroad after her hit series Heartbreak High completes its final season.

Ayesha said she will ‘definitely move to London’ to continue her career as a singer and actress after the series ends.
