Harry Kane is in a race against time to prove his fitness for Thursday’s match against Greece after missing training on Tuesday.

The England captain was cleared to remain in the squad for the upcoming Nations League matches despite suffering groin and ankle problems during Bayern Munich’s draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

But Kane missed Tuesday’s training at St George’s Park and instead stayed indoors to work on an individualized programme.

It is understood that Kane is not completely ruling out playing against Greece at Wembley on Thursday evening and is dealing with his recovery on a day-by-day basis.

But if the 31-year-old does not train with his colleagues on Wednesday, Kane will probably miss at least the start of the match against the Greeks.

England play Finland on Sunday and Kane could be better placed to play in Helsinki if he cannot make it to training on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, England will wear an all-white strip on Wednesday evening to rekindle the memories of their unforgettable clash against Greece in 2001.

David Beckham scored with an iconic free-kick in stoppage time to send England to Euro 2002, with the team wearing a white jersey, shorts and socks.

Generally, England wear a white top, blue shorts and white socks, but there will be a change of tactics on Thursday.

Greece will wear their classic all-blue strip, the same kit they wore 23 years ago in that epic clash at Old Trafford.
