The Australian government has issued a stern warning to horror fans flocking to cinemas to see ultra-violent slasher film Terriifier 3, warning audiences of its extreme content and disturbing themes.

Directed by Damien Leone, the film has attracted huge audiences since its release on October 10, as Art the Clown’s blood-soaked saga continues with more gruesome, stomach-churning scenes.

The film has broken box office records as horror fans are lured by the film’s reputation for intense violence and shock value.

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts has warned the Australian public to prepare for scenes of graphic violence, mayhem and disturbing themes that go far beyond typical horror.

The film contains brutal depictions of murder using a variety of weapons, from chainsaws to axes and guns, resulting in graphic details of injuries and large amounts of blood.

The warning also highlights that the film portrays self-harm, cannibalism, animal abuse and violence involving children, pushing the boundaries of what the most hardened horror fans have seen before.

One of the film’s more controversial moments includes a scene of implied masturbation combined with self-harm, along with a shower scene that hints at sexual activity.

Additionally, male genital nudity and blacked-out shots of female breast and buttock nudity have raised concerns among viewers and the ratings board alike.

The film’s R18+ rating in Australia is due to its heavy impact of violence, blood, gore and explicit sexual content.

Despite these warnings, the public came in droves.

Many moviegoers in Sydney and Melbourne reportedly clapped and cheered during some of the film’s most grotesque death scenes.

This latest installment of the Terrifier franchise continues the sadistic horror of Art the Clown, a character who has now become a modern horror icon for his ruthless brutality.

In Terrifier 3, Art’s reign of terror continues, once again being targeted by Sienna Shaw, who barely survived his attacks in the previous film.

Sienna, played by actress Lauren LaVera, faces off against Art in a deadly confrontation that is as bloody as it is gruesome, with scenes of decapitations, mutilations and visceral body horror.

The Terrifier franchise, which started in 2016, quickly gained a cult following for its extreme violence and over-the-top death scenes.

The first film, in which Art the Clown mutilated a victim with a hacksaw, shocked audiences with its brutal murder sequences.

The sequel, Terrifier 2, went viral last year after reports emerged of viewers fainting and vomiting in theaters due to its graphic content.

Now, with Terriifier 3, Leone has doubled down on the carnage and taken the gore to new, disturbing levels.

Despite Australia’s strict film censorship laws, Terrifier 3 was approved for theatrical release, with a strong warning attached.

The film’s fame has only increased its appeal to horror fans, who continue to fill theaters across the country.

Earlier this month, two people fainted and fled for the exit as it reached a Perth cinema for early previews.

According to multiple eyewitness accounts, a young woman seriously injured herself after falling down the cinema stairs while fleeing the cinema.

“This sounds made up, but I promise you it’s not,” Australian horror film critic Emma Clarke began her review of David Leone’s controversial new horror slasher.

The Rotten Tomatoes-verified critic said two people fainted right in front of her during the screening she attended at Innaloo Cinemas in Perth this weekend.

The first fainted during the opening scene, she said in her film review shared on YouTube, and the second closer to the end of the two-house spectacle.

“Can you tell me…why did two people feint right in front of me during that movie?” she said.

“They both tried to run down the stairs to get to the bathroom because they felt so sick.”

The horror movie fanatic said she approached both people and tried to help them because she was sitting directly behind them.

The first was a man, who left with a friend who came to check on him, and the second Australian victim was a young woman.

‘This poor girl cut her head open falling down the stairs, I felt so sorry for her. I went to check on her afterward,” Clarke claimed.

‘She did get help. She was with her friend. It really shocked me too. It actually took me out of the movie for a moment.’

The critic, who has been sharing her thoughts on scary movies for the past four years, said she has never seen such a visceral reaction to a movie from audience members.

Clarke described the third part of Leone’s series – which premieres nationally on Thursday, October 11 – as “fun, intense, bloody, crazy and over-the-top.”

“I’m not used to horror actually hurting people, so that was a very strange experience,” she said.

“Before anyone says they are paid actors, I saw the girl and she had injuries. They were both very young people. I honestly think it’s terrible.’

“It was a very scary moment helping them.”
