Gordon Ramsay has revealed he almost died in a horrific cycling accident this week.
The celebrity chef, 57, told his 17.4 million Instagram followers to ‘wear a helmet’ because the crash saved his life.
In the video, Gordon lifted his chef’s jacket to reveal his injuries, with one side of his body covered in black and purple bruises.
He captioned the post: ‘With #FathersDay tomorrow I have a very important message for all the dads out there…WEAR A HELMET! This week I had a very bad accident while cycling in Connecticut.
“I’m doing well and haven’t broken any bones or suffered any serious injuries, but I’m a little bruised and look like a purple potato.”

It comes after it was revealed that Gordon has finally returned to his family home in Wandsworth after two years of renovations.
The chef and his wife Tana, 49, were spotted on Wednesday returning to the south London mansion they bought for £2.8million in 2002.
The house is now worth £7 million and has undergone a number of renovations over the years, including a single-storey outbuilding in the garden and a temporary pigsty.
The plans submitted to the council were approved in July 2021 and it was indicated that work would start in September 2021 and end in December 2022. Still, massive renovations – including an expansion and structural overhaul – continued into this year.
Although builders can still be seen on the property, it appears that the house is now in good enough condition to be habitable for Gordon and his brood.
During this time he would stay in a luxury flat in the new Battersea Power Station development, which costs around £12,000 a month.
The latest development in its renovations came last week, when Gordon won a planning battle to build new security gates.
In documents submitted to the London Borough of Wandsworth Council, Gordon requested new wooden ones instead of steel.

Gordon’s planning agents say the revised gate plans would be ‘more in keeping with the streetscape and improve the appearance of the conservation area.’
His family home is located in a conservation area, areas of special architectural and historical interest. In these areas, special planning controls are applied to developments in an attempt to maintain their character and appearance.
He was given permission to carry out extensive renovations to his London pad in 2021 and steel gates were also approved at the time.
Council officials rejected an initial application in February for a ‘non-material amendment’, which is used for very minor changes to developments.
They asked him to submit a different type of application, because the plans would have consequences for the nature reserve.
In the original application, officials said: ‘On the whole, the proposed changes are considered material to the original planning permission and would therefore require a planning application or variation of condition.’
After considering a second ‘variation of condition’ application, officials then said: ‘The proposed timber entrance gates would be the same height as the previously approved gates, and their materiality would reflect the existing gates on the site and those on the adjacent site .
‘The proposed change to the access gates is therefore considered acceptable and will not detract from the character or appearance of the nature reserve.’
The documents show the gates ‘match’ Gordon’s neighbors’ properties, which have a similar design.
The Hells Kitchen star has carried out an extensive renovation of his multi-million pound London property, which will include a wine shop and a master bedroom spanning an entire floor.
He also wanted to remove a brick pattern from his front garden wall.

Gordon’s extensive property transformation included adding 76 square meters to their family home.
In the basement, the celebrity chef has space for another bedroom with en suite bathroom, a study, a technical room, a shoe room and a shower room.
The design of the basement also includes a glass well, to allow natural light to flow through the property.
As part of the plans for the south London property, the chef has also demolished his entire ground floor to add an extension with a modern glass design, which will house his open-plan kitchen, living and dining room .
In addition to changing the entrance and basement floors of his property, Gordon also renovated the second floor of his house and added a new wall and garage.
Chef’s planning agents claim the plans would ‘create a functional layout throughout the house, allowing for larger room sizes whilst optimizing living space and options on the site’.
Construction of the expansion began in September 2021, but workers were only allowed to use ‘non-machine’ tools for parts of the renovation because the building was in a conversation area.
There was also a Purple Beach tree at the front of the house, which is said to be under a tree protection order, while other trees in the garden are in root protection areas.
A study found that demolition and excavation work should be ‘carried out manually using non-mechanical hand tools’ and that construction workers would need an ‘introduction’ to how to work around trees.
The celebrity chef held meetings with his neighbors over the massive building work, with his representatives adding in the planning documents: ‘Meetings have been held with the owners to discuss the proposals and no negative comments have been received.’
Gordon has previously been given planning permission to build two super-trendy ‘igloos’ at his London home.
The chef submitted plans in 2019 to place the log cabins in his backyard, creating more living space for friends and family.
The luxury cabins, which cost £40,000 each, have three external windows, a small door and are clad in spruce shingles and plywood slats.
Inside, the luxury pods feature a fully functional kitchen, double bed, electric heating, shower, storage space, power sockets and cable TV. They are made in Estonia before being shipped to Britain.
Gordon follows a trend set by David Beckham and Guy Ritchie, who brought similar ‘igloo-style’ huts from the same Estonian suppliers and had them installed in their country homes in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
The cabins known as ‘Model 4’ face each other at the bottom of the large garden of the eight-bedroom Victorian home he shares with his Tana and their four older children Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23. Matilda, 21 and Oscar, 4.
Gordon Ramsay’s pub, York & Albany, was taken over by squatters earlier this year
Wandsworth Council gave the plans the go-ahead but advised Gordon that he would need to arrange a meeting with tree growers who would visit to inspect his trees.
It comes as Gordon is reportedly improving security at his £7million mansion to protect himself and his family after his London pub was targeted by squatters.
The York & Albany pub in Regents Park was temporarily closed as the chef planned to sign a multi-million pound lease to new partners, and it was at this time that the group took over the premises. They were later evicted.
Following the terrifying incident, Gordon hired a professional security company to protect the home in the capital, with security guards and dogs patrolling the property 24 hours a day while renovation work was carried out.
The Ramsays also have a house less than a mile away previously owned by Matt Hancock’s lover Gina Coladangelo, as well as holiday homes in California and Cornwall.
