Glen Powell reveals Twisters kiss scene with Daisy Edgar-Jones was CUT – and discusses backlash over its omission

Glen Powell admitted to fans that a racy scene was cut from his latest film Twisters.

The handsome actor, 35, who was recently caught ‘flirting all night’ with Gracie Abrams, told Screen tirade On Friday, executive producer Steven Spielberg pulled his kiss scene with co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones because it was “too cliché.”

Fans were shocked to learn that the two leads never kiss, especially since that would have given the film a happy ending.

“I take it very personally,” Glen joked.

‘I’m sure you saw the behind-the-scenes scenes where I got to kiss Daisy Edgar-Jones, and that’s really all that matters. [Laughs] “We had a great time and I’m very proud of the film,” he explained to the outlet.

The Top Gun: Maverick star said the fan reaction to the scene’s cut “shows that people care, and that’s really great.”

He continued, “I love how excited people have gotten about that movie, and Daisy and I send each other the TikToks and the gifs. There’s so much humor that comes out of it. It’s fun.

“That’s what summer movies are all about. It creates a conversation and a cultural moment, and people dress up and do it. It’s really great. So, kiss or no kiss, everyone’s a winner,” he said.

As for why she thinks the long-awaited scene was pulled, Daisy hinted in another interview with Collider and said it’s ‘not the end of their story yet.’

The 26-year-old actress said: “I think there’s something really beautiful about the feeling that there’s a continuation. This isn’t the end of their story. They’re united by their shared passion for something.”

Glen chimed in: ‘I also think this movie isn’t about finding love. It’s about getting Kate back to the thing that she loves, which is storm chasing. So that’s what you have at the end of the movie.

“They share this thing, and her passion is rekindled, and her sense of home is rekindled. I feel like a kiss would not be representative of the right purpose at the end of the movie. And it’s a good point by Spielberg. That’s why that child is still in this game. It’s amazing,” he said.

Per IMDb file Twisters follows Daisy, a former storm chaser who was haunted by a devastating tornado encounter during her college years and now safely studies storm patterns on screens in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her boyfriend to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.

‘There she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), the charming and reckless social media superstar who loves to post his storm-chasing adventures with his boisterous crew, the more dangerous the better.’

The action film was released on July 19 and also stars Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney and Sasha Lane.
