FSU fans drink Dublin dry as Aviva Stadium ‘runs OUT of beer in the first quarter’ of college football opener against Georgia Tech

Florida State Seminoles fans are known for their football team, but they are also known for their partying spirit.

When they arrived in Dublin, Ireland for a “Week 0” football game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, they brought that party with them from Tallahassee.

Multiple tweets from fans in the stadium reported that Florida State fans were drinking Aviva Stadium without beer — or at least in their half of the stadium.

‘Holy shit… the stadium is out of beer,’ one tweet read‘The Noles literally drank the Irish stadium dry in the first quarter.’

This tweet was quickly followed by another: “I think we’re open again… but the queues are insane” and then an image of two pints of Guinness with the caption “Crisis averted”.

More than half an hour later, two tweets from two different accounts appeared to say similar things.

‘FSU drank them out of everything but Guinness before halftime!’ wrote an FSU fan in the stands.

Another tweet from a Florida State podcaster Sources report that “Aviva Stadium no longer has Guinness (sic) on the Florida State concourses and is quickly moving more from the GT concourses to accommodate.”

But those reports were thrown cold water on by the Sirius XM College Football host Barrett Sallee who was in the stadium.

“I saw people here saying the stadium is out of beer,” Sallee tweeted. “I can assure you there is plenty of beer.”

Well, if that’s the case, Florida State fans probably needed a beer to numb their sorrows.

The 10th-ranked Seminoles lost 24-21 to Georgia Tech thanks to a walk-off field goal by kicker Aidan Birr.

Georgia Tech head coach Brent Pry went 5-0 against ranked opponents from the Atlantic Coast Conference with the Yellow Jackets, giving Tech their first win over a top 10 opponent since 2015. That win came courtesy of a blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown against none other than Florida State.
