Italy started their European Championship defense with a 2-1 win over Albania and much attention was paid to Alessandro Bastoni’s goal.
Albania had taken a shock lead after just 23 seconds, with Nedim Bejrami scoring the fastest ever goal in a European Championship match.
However, Italy responded in the eleventh minute when a cleverly worked corner routine culminated in Bastoni’s equalizer with a header.
In the 16th minute, Nicolo Barella put Italy ahead 2-1.

Fans were quick to point out that the corner routine was similar to the routine often used in the popular video game EAFC (formerly known as FIFA).
Italy took a short corner, then sent a cross into the penalty area before Bastoni headed in.
