Ex-Colts player Daniel Muir ARRESTED with his wife as missing son found ‘safe and well’ by police in morning raid

The missing son of former Indianapolis Colts player Daniel Muir has been found safe after a stressful two weeks, with the retired NFL nose tackle arrested after the boy’s grandmother accused him of assault.

Bryson Muir, 14, was found “safe and well” at 6 a.m. Wednesday when members of the Indiana State Police SWAT team raided the Muir family home in Logansport, Indiana.

Both of his parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, were arrested and charged with obstruction of justice – a Level 6 felony in Indiana punishable by up to 2.5 years in prison. Daniel is also charged with assault.

Bryson is now in the custody of the Cass County Department of Child Protective Services.

Although officers were able to find Bryson safe, much about his disappearance remains a mystery. Indiana State Police warn that this is still an ongoing criminal investigation and anyone with information about the case can contact 1-800-382-0689.

On Friday, Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for Bryson, who was reportedly in imminent danger following allegations of assault against Daniel. The teen was last seen leaving his grandmother’s home in Ohio on June 16, Indiana State Police said.

Officers described parents Daniel and Kristin as uncooperative after they failed to keep their appointment to take their son to ISP investigators on Friday.

Bryson’s grandmother, Cheryl Wright, called police after seeing her grandson with a black eye and a bruised face in her Ohio home on June 16. But when his mother picked up Kristin Bryson in the Cleveland suburbs, young Muir fled his grandmother’s house and jumped into his mother’s white 2015 Chevrolet Suburban.

“His face was battered,” Wright said. Fox59 from Indianapolis of her last encounter with her grandson outside her Cleveland-area home. ‘When I [Bryson] he had a black eye and a busted lip. His whole face was swollen. I can only imagine how many times he had been hit in the face to get it to be like this.’

As for Bryson’s willingness to return to his parents despite his injuries, Wright alleged that her grandson had been “brainwashed” by the couple and their church, the Servant Leader Foundation.

“Bryson was so conditioned or brainwashed by their way of life that he wanted to go back,” Wright said. “When I tried to get my daughter to leave, he ran out of the house and went with them.”

Shortly afterward, the Chevy was pulled over by Ohio police, but by then Bryson was no longer in his mother’s car.

“Officers believe he was probably put in another car,” Wright said.

Wright says she told police she believes Daniel gave Bryson his black eye.

Bryson, she says, refused to talk to her about the injury or the events leading up to it, so she called local police.

“I didn’t want to let him go,” Wright said. “I tried to call the police because he was being abused. It hurts me that someone could be beaten like that. It hurts me that my daughter would allow someone to do that to her child.”

Daniel, 40, is originally from Washington, D.C., and played for Kent State before going undrafted in 2007. His wife, Kristin, also attended Kent State, according to her LinkedIn page.

Daniel eventually signed with the Green Bay Packers, after which he played three seasons with the Colts and part of the 2012 season with the New York Jets.

Daniel has also served as a pastor for the Indianapolis chapter of Straitway Truth Ministries, which describes itself as “a nation of Hebrew Israelites.”

Former Packers star Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila also joined that ministry after renouncing Christianity, according to SI.com.

Another former Colts player, Robert Mathis, has been linked to the organization. The Southern Poverty Law Center has been described by the organization as a potential hate group with anti-LGBTQ and anti-Semitic ideology.

DailyMail.com’s attempts to contact the Muir family, the Servant Leader’s Foundation and Straitway Truth Ministries have been unsuccessful.
