Emma Willis breaks down in tears and leaves Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo misty-eyed as she praises husband Matt for being a ‘f***ing phenomenal’ father to their children

Emma Willis burst into tears on Monday as she talked about what an amazing father her husband Matt was on The Newlyweds Podcast.

The 48-year-old presenter married the 41-year-old Busted singer in 2008 and they have three children: Isabelle, 15, Ace, 12, and eight-year-old Trixie.

They appeared together on the latest episode of couple Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo’s podcast, where they opened up about how their romance began and spoke candidly about their nearly two-decade relationship.

But at one point Emma became visibly emotional, bringing Jamie, Sophie and Matt to tears as she talked about having children.

After Jamie admitted his nerves about starting a family, the TV presenter said: “You remind me a bit of Matt. I don’t really know you but you seem like a bit of an excited puppy.”

She continued, “That’s just the way Matt is. And when we had kids, it was like his best friend was there.

“He’s my partner and my equal and sometimes he’s like my fourth child. And I mean that in the best possible way, because that’s how he is when he’s with his children.”

Emma felt a lump in her throat and started to cry as she added, “He just gets down on their level and he fucks them phenomenally.”

She reached out to Matt, who was also close to tears, and added, “Honestly, it will make you the best version of yourself.”

To lighten the mood, Emma said, “Otherwise you’ll catch fire!” Matt added, “It’s a huge adjustment.”

He explained: ‘Working with Emma is so great because it’s easy, you know? I was really nervous about it because I’m not a TV presenter. She just said, “Just be yourself.” I thought, “How the f*** am I going to do that?”

“But I have a safe pair of hands next to me, who are the f*****g best at what they do. So I just go with her.”

He continued: ‘I’ve been with her for like half my life. When work and kids and stuff gets in the way, sometimes you forget that, “Oh, I still f*****g love you.”

‘I mean, we love each other, but you forget like, “Oh, I really like you, I want to hang out with you more than anyone else,” and that’s so f*****g nice.

“We are all imperfect and we shouldn’t feel like we have to hide parts of ourselves to be loved. Ultimately, it was our love and hard work that got us where we are today.”

Matt rose to fame in 2000 as one third of the pop-punk band Busted, alongside James Bourne and Charlie Simpson.
