Dakota Johnson was back in the spotlight Tuesday night as she made her first public appearance since news of a secret breakup and reconciliation with Chris Martin emerged.
The actress joined director Christy Hall of AMC Century City for a Film Independent special screening of their 2023 film Daddio.
34-year-old Johnson – co-producer and lead actor in the low-budget drama – stood out in a white cardigan top and loose-fitting jeans, teamed with a stylish oversized blazer and heels.
The US star attended the event as partner Chris Martin makes their way through mainland Europe with Coldplay on their extensive Music Of The Spheres world tour.
While Johnson took the stage for a Q&A with Hall and co-star Sean Penn ahead of Tuesday’s screening in Los Angeles, Martin, 47, was on stage for the first of two consecutive Coldplay shows at Budapest’s Puskas Arena.

But insiders claim they secretly split after experiencing a problem in their relationship, before discreetly reuniting.
A source said PEOPLE: ‘They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on track.’
Johnson recently released her HBO series Am I OK? Her latest feature Daddio also premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Monday.
Martin is currently at the end of his Music Of The Spheres Tour with Coldplay, which started in March 2022 and ends in November with multiple dates in New Zealand.
The last time the low-key power couple was seen together was in February during a loved-up trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Weeks later, it was claimed the two got “engaged” in March.
It was said at the time that the Coldplay singer proposed to the actress “a while ago” and has the full blessing of his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, 51, and their children Apple, 19, and Moses, 17.

The couple have kept their romance private since they first started their relationship six years ago.
A source said The mirror in March: “The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are open about it with their circles.
‘They were in love with each other from day one, so taking this next step was inevitable.
“They are in no rush to plan the wedding, but are just excited to make their commitment official.”
Johnson was also spotted wearing an emerald ring on her wedding finger on her 34th birthday in Los Angeles last October.

The couple met through mutual friends and have “never really left each other” since, the actress told Vanity Fair in June 2022.
They were first spotted together in 2017, the year after the musician’s divorce from Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth.
However, it was not initially clear whether the couple was dating, or just close.
In June 2019, the couple had a fling, reportedly the result of the Coldplay frontman’s insistence that they have children.
This was a leap that Johnson, in her professional prime, was reportedly unwilling to take. Before the summer was over, however, they were back together.
Johnson’s parents are actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.
They both split, with Don marrying Kelley Phleger in 1999 and Melanie tying the knot with Antonio Banderas in 1996. They divorced in 2015.
