The Thor actor shared a video on Instagram on Monday of himself enjoying the treat all by himself.

The dessert is described on the website as ‘a soft and fluffy cake with a beautiful glossy white chocolate glaze and finished with dark chocolate swirls for an extra treat’ and is a favourite among Australians.

“I just want to thank you all for all the birthday wishes and love,” Chris said in his video.

“I didn’t actually take any pictures yesterday, so I bought myself a cake and I thought I’d have a little, little, little private party and I bought some champagne as well,” he explained.

Chris added: ‘I bought some flowers. That’s the thing. You know, as you get older, you realise that the circle of people around you, the people you love, gets smaller and smaller.

‘So I’m the only one. But don’t worry, like I said, I have a lovely cake and some bubbles and a little arrangement to go with it.’
