Blood-curdling audio recordings of 911 calls made on the day of the Apalachee High School shooting have been released by authorities in Georgia.

The Barrow County 911 call center received an influx of calls beginning at approximately 10:20 a.m. about the tragic shooting that left two teachers and two students dead, according to Fox News.

The footage shows the terror that erupted after 14-year-old Colt Gray opened fire on September 4.

The calls came from shocked parents of students at Apalachee High School and surrounding schools, and from loved ones of school staff.

A panicked caller said, “My daughter is calling me crying. Someone is saying, ‘boom, boom, boom, boom.’

But due to the many phone calls, waiting times increased.

A man who called after reading text messages from his girlfriend was put on hold for more than 10 minutes, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He said, “She hears people screaming outside, so I don’t know if that’s officers in the building or if that’s — I don’t know.”

Many of the recorded 911 calls cannot be released under Georgia law because they contain “the speeches or cries of minors,” according to a letter obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta.

The calls ended up at the call center of the other province, while parents were desperately looking for answers.

A caller said, “Sir, my daughter goes to school next to Apalachee. Is there a shooter at school?”

“We have an active situation at Apalachee High School right now. We’re getting a lot of calls,” a dispatcher responded.

According to authorities, more than 500 radio correspondences between aid workers have also been released. The Associated Press.

The radio emergency recordings and dispatch reports were obtained by CNN.

An officer shouted, “Active shooter!”

In another recording, an officer can be heard saying that a child is on the phone with his or her parents and that they are “in the art room, locked in.”

Gray’s father, Colin, was charged with two counts of murder in connection with his son’s shooting.

According to family members, he bought his son the AR-15 allegedly used in the shooting, took him hunting and called the 14-year-old a “wimp.”

Gray is being charged as an adult in the shooting.

According to CNN, this was the 45th school shooting in 2024 and the deadliest since the Convent School shooting in Nashville in March 2023.
