A three-year-old girl has died in hospital just hours after suffering life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car at a busy intersection.
The little girl was reportedly hit by the vehicle at the intersection of James Cook Drive and Heatherton Road, in Endeavor Hills, in Melbourne’s south-east, about 8.30am on Thursday.
She was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a critical condition and died this morning.
The 24-year-old driver was arrested by police at the scene and has since been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury.
The Endeavor Hills man has been bailed to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Further charges are expected to be considered following the toddler’s death.
A children’s scooter was seen on its side in footage from Seven News.
