Chelsea have completed the signing of Aston Villa striker Omari Kellyman in a deal worth £19 million.

Mail Sport revealed last week that the two Premier League sides had reached an agreement for the Blues to bring Kellyman to Stamford Bridge.

Now the deal has been completed after Chelsea announced on Saturday morning that the 18-year-old has signed a six-year contract, with the option of a further year, in west London.

Speaking with the club websiteKellyman said: ‘It’s fantastic to be here as a Chelsea player.

‘It’s a huge club with a great history, so it’s great to join. It’s certainly a dream come true. I’m glad I put on the shirt and can’t wait to get started.’

Villa are aiming to meet PSR requirements and have sold another midfielder, Tim Iroegbunam, to Everton for £9m. In return, the team plan to sign Lewis Dobbin in a separate deal.

He made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Manchester City in March.

The 18-year-old represented Northern Ireland at several youth levels before being given the go-ahead to switch his international allegiance to his native country last year.

Since then, Kellyman has made seven appearances for England Under-19s.

Meanwhile, Chelsea sent full-back Ian Maatsen in the opposite direction on Friday evening as he completed a £37.5million move to Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old left-back was part of the Borussia Dortmund team that was defeated by Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season while on loan at Stamford Bridge.

Maatsen, who is currently participating with his country in the 2024 European Championship in Germany, becomes Unai Emery’s second summer signing after the arrival of striker Lewis Dobbin from Everton.

He also made 12 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season, having previously spent time out on loan at Charlton, Coventry and Burnley.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have confirmed that Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech has completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray following a loan spell at the Turkish club.
