Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrated her son Dylan Douglas’ 24th birthday with a heartfelt tribute and never-before-seen footage from his childhood.
On Thursday, the 54-year-old Oscar winner posted a home video to her Instagram account showing her madly in love with her eldest child when he was just a baby.
“Happy 24th birthday to my son @dylan__douglas,” she captioned the post. “The joy and love you give me every day is insurmountable. Being your mommy is a gift I never take for granted. I love you my beautiful boy. ”
The footage, taken when Zeta-Jones was 30, shows her gazing adoringly at her newborn baby, who lies on a soft white towel on a bathroom counter.
Despite the inevitable sleepless nights that all expectant mothers experience, Zeta-Jones looked well-rested and cheerful as her little one reached out to her and kicked his feet in the air.

On her Instagram Story, she also shared a black-and-white photo of Dylan with his father Michael Douglas, whom she married in 2000.
“The best production we’ve ever been a part of,” she cheered. “Dylan thinks Wall Street is the best! I doubt it [laughing emoji].
Michael also celebrated his son’s birthday via social media.
“Wow @dylan__douglas! 24! You’re going fast my son! Wishing you a very happy birthday from a proud father!” he wrote on Instagram.
In addition to Dylan, Zeta-Jones and Michael also have a daughter, Carys, 21.
Michael has his eldest child, a son named Cameron, 45, with his ex-wife Diandra Luker.
On Carys’ birthday in April, Zeta-Jones described their daughter as “the most incredible woman” and said she enjoys being a mother “every day.”
Earlier this year, Michael joked that he and his wife were bribing their adult children with “extravagant” trips so they could spend more time as a family now that they’ve both left home.
“Catherine and I are blessed that our kids Dylan and Carys still love to travel with us,” he joked on Today . “And so we just spent five weeks in India over Christmas. And we’re always planning for next year, what our travels are going to be and where we’re going to go.”

He indicated that it is a “pleasure” to spend time with his children, “especially when you don’t force them.”
‘[I] said, ‘Catherine, look, they actually want to hang out with us. I said, “You know, it’s okay.” But we have good trips. We entice them with good places to go,’ he mused.
Last summer the family went on holiday to Capri and stayed on a yacht.
In 2022, Zeta-Jones told People that her family is happy.
“Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive of me, not just as an actor, but just as me, you know. I’m so blessed to have them both in my life,” she said.
Michael and Catherine were married in 2000 in New York City.

In 2001, Zeta-Jones told Larry King how they first met at the Deauville Film Festival.
“I was told that Michael Douglas wanted to meet me. I was a little nervous because I didn’t know exactly what he wanted to meet me for.”
Douglas was at the time promoting A Perfect Murder and Zeta-Jones’ The Mask of Zorro, both of which were released in 1998.
Their friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith – who were previously married – introduced the actors during a private dinner.
Michael asked Catherine if he could sit next to her.
He told her he was going to be the father of her children, which shocked her, she said, and he sent her flowers shortly afterward to apologize.

They started a friendship.
“Nine months later, I still have long phone conversations with him, we have dinner together, and I keep asking myself, ‘Why aren’t we together?’” she told King.
“One day we looked at each other and said, ‘We have a really good time together,’” she said.
Douglas proposed to Zeta-Jones on New Year’s Eve 1999 at his Aspen home and gave him a $1 million diamond ring.
