Bukayo Saka has been left out of Arsenal’s squad for Bournemouth this afternoon after suffering a knock in England’s defeat to Greece.
Mikel Arteta said the winger would be assessed ahead of the match, but the star failed to prove his fitness in time and Raheem Sterling started instead.
The Gunners star has made an excellent start to the season, scoring twice and assisting seven times in Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
But last week he had Arsenal fans’ hearts in their mouths when he trudged off the pitch at Wembley during the Three Lions’ humiliating 2-1 defeat to 48th-placed Greece.

It later emerged that he had to leave due to a thigh problem and he withdrew from the squad ahead of England’s victory over Finland on Sunday.
And despite Arteta’s encouraging comments at yesterday’s press conference, the winger has been left out of the starting line-up for Saturday’s clash on the south coast.
It opens the door for Sterling, who joined on loan from Chelsea this summer, with the 29-year-old joining Arsenal’s talented frontline.
