A married gym teacher accused of sexually abusing a male student has been charged with six new counts relating to another teenager.

Tayla Brailey, 30, was arrested last week after allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old boy she taught at Lurnea High School in Sydney’s south-west multiple times in July.

She was charged with three counts: sexual abuse, sexual intercourse with a person in her care and aggravated sexual assault.

Police have now charged Brailey with new alleged offences relating to a second student, including sexual intercourse with a teenager in her care and sexually touching a teenager in her care.

The new charges also include inciting a teenage girl in her care to sexually touch her and soliciting, accessing and possessing or controlling child abuse material.

The second alleged victim is between 16 and 17 years old.

Brailey’s new case was heard in Wollongong District Court on Friday. Police initially refused to grant her bail, but the magistrate re-granted her bail.

The same strict bail conditions imposed last week remain in place. Brailey must live with her parents and can only leave the house if one of them accompanies her.

In addition, she is bound by a curfew, must surrender her passport and must report to the police three times a week.

She is also prohibited from using social media, entering Lurnea, contacting her alleged victims or the prosecution’s witnesses, attending educational institutions, and being in the presence of a minor unless the child is accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Police allege Brailey, who married just 11 months ago, began talking to the first boy after he added her on Snapchat, before the two began exchanging sexually explicit videos.

According to documents cited in court last week, police allege that a friend who accompanied their first alleged victim to her home in mid-July at one point walked in on her performing sexual acts on him.

Police also allege she had sex with the first boy in the car after he walked her to school to meet her, then went to the chemist to get the morning-after pill.

According to the documents, police allege she became “hysterical” and admitted this to officers when they confronted her with the allegations at school last week.

Her case will be heard at Liverpool Crown Court on October 2.
