Black Panther star Letitia Wright distances herself from her own movie after learning conservatives were distributing it

Black Panther star and producer Letitia Wright has distanced herself from the promoters of her new film after discovering they are collaborating with conservatives.

Wright’s company is behind the new Christian film “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” which tells the story of a Texas church that adopted more than 70 foster children.

The film, distributed theatrically by Angel Studios, is a huge success with audiences, grossing $6.7 million over the July 4 holiday despite its relatively small budget of $8.5 million.

But on Sunday, Wright released a statement about Instagram in which he complains that Angel Studios is collaborating with the conservative news website DailyWire+.

“To be clear,” Wright wrote, “after we wrapped production on this film, Angel Studios was brought on board to handle distribution and later partnered with The Daily Wire. This was not my decision, and I was not updated or informed of this decision.

‘I am in no way affiliated with The Daily Wire.

“I do not condone the use of this beautiful film for divisive political purposes. That is not why I joined the project.”

Wright’s statement also came after The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh promoted the film on X. In a July 4 post, he claimed that “leftists are trying to stop Christians from saving more children.”

Jeremy Boreing, CEO of The Daily Wire, told DailyMail.com: ‘The Daily Wire is honored to partner with Angel Studios on such an important project.

But such is the intolerance of the modern left that one of the film’s producers, Letitia Wright of Black Panther fame, instead of celebrating this achievement and all it could mean, took the opportunity to condemn The Daily Wire’s involvement in spreading this message across the country.

‘Letitia and I may not share the same political beliefs, but I do believe we share a Christian faith and, more importantly, we have the same goal: to draw attention to something we all agree on: a community working together to help children in need.

“We hope that people won’t let this distraction distract them from the message of the film and the impact it can have. Everyone should see this film and join the fight for children.”

Wright came under fire in 2021 after a report alleged that she had a habit of voicing her anti-vaccination views on the set of the sequel to the hit Marvel series. She has denied this.

She drew criticism from Marvel colleague Don Cheadle after sharing a YouTube clip featuring British commentator Tomi Arayomi, a Christian who claims to communicate with angels and runs a church that charges members to attend classes at his “school.”

Arayomi describes himself as “a recognized prophet and the director of Prophetic Voice TV.”

In the video Wright shared, Arayomi wondered whether the COVID vaccine would implant 5G antennas in people or create “human-animal chimeras.”

The actor called the images Wright shared “nonsense” and said what was in them was “F****d up.”

The negative reactions from Cheadle and others prompted Wright to delete her social media accounts.

Before deleting her social media, Wright reiterated her stance, saying she didn’t want to offend people but wanted to raise concerns about what’s in vaccines.
