An avid fisherman accused of filming and sharing bestiality footage involving a woman and a live trout has appeared in court.
Ashley David Hallam, 55, appeared in Hobart District Court on Tuesday to request an adjournment of his case.
Hallam, from Dolphin Sands in south-east Tasmania, has been charged with two counts of making or reproducing a bestiality product and three counts of possessing a bestiality product.
He has not yet filed a request.
Police say a disturbing video went viral showing his co-accused, Catherine June Lee, lying on a boat at sea in southern Tasmania while Hallam used a live trout to perform sex acts on her.
The offences are said to have taken place between February 2022 and January 25, 2023, The Mercury reported.
Magistrate Marica Duvnjak granted Hallam’s request and adjourned the case until October 25.
Lee, from the Hobart suburb of Howden, first appeared in court on Monday to request the same adjournment, a request that was also granted.

Lee, 58, was charged with possession of a bestiality product and two counts of making or reproducing a bestiality product.
Court documents show the footage shows “sexual activity” between Lee and Trout.
The pair were arrested and charged by police in February 2023.
At the time, police reminded the public that possessing or distributing bestiality material is a criminal offence.
