After a bleak year for the video game industry, 2025 is looking a lot brighter and busier, if only because Rockstar Games plans to Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2025, and Nintendo promises to deliver a successor to the wildly popular Switch, as well as a bunch of new games to go with it.
These aren’t the only sequels that are eagerly anticipated in 2025. Video game fans can also expect Sid Meier’s Civilization 7, Death Stranding 2, Doom: The Dark Agesthe new Fable, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Monster Hunter Wilds, Pokémon Legends: ZAAnd Defeat the Spire 2In addition to sequels, there are a number of other big bets on the 2025 calendar, such as Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, JudasRiot’s fighting game 2XKOAnd South of midnightIt goes without saying that right now it looks like it’s going to be a very, very big year.
