Over the weekend, Adele and Celine went viral when they shared a tearful hug during her Las Vegas residency.
Celine had Adele in tears when she made a surprise appearance at her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Adele revealed why she got so emotional performing for Celine this weekend when she shared a photo on her Instagram.
‘I have been performing in Celine Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost two years now. 4 more weeks! It was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her,” she captioned the image.
The 16-time Grammy winner further revealed that she keeps a photo of Dion “right next to the stage” and touches it “every night before” she walks on stage.
This made Celine’s ‘surprise’ presence even more special for the mother of one, who has long admired the music icon.
‘It was a MOMENT!!’ Adele said she saw the star in the audience. ‘@celinedion I love you very much. Words will never summarize what you mean to me, or what your coming to my show means, let alone what it felt like to see you back in your palace with your beautiful family.”
The Hello hitmaker concluded: ‘I loved being there, it was such an honor and Saturday night will be something I remember forever. Such a full circle moment for me to be there with you. Thank you so much .’

In footage shared online from the show, Adele and Céline held each other before the English singer returned to the floor and told the audience: “Give it up for Ms. Céline Dion.”
An emotional Céline could be seen wiping her eyes with a tissue before standing and waving to the crowd as Adele continued to sing her hit When We Were Young.
In another clip, Adele praised Céline as “one of my favorite people of all time” as she gestured to the singing superstar in the audience.
The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker has been vocal about her love for Céline over the years, calling her “Queen Céline” after attending one of her performances in a 2018 Instagram post.
Alongside a photo of herself wearing a Céline T-shirt, she added: ‘What a show, an absolute highlight of my life, thank you so much for the attention to your audience and the crazy humor. Happy New Year lady x.”
Céline returned the love at the time and shared a photo on social media in which she posed next to Adele, who was wearing the singer’s merchandise.
She wrote: ‘I couldn’t do all my shows but was thrilled Adele came to one of them…I love her so much!! – Céline xx’.
Adele returned to the Colosseum this weekend to continue her residency after taking a break to perform a series of shows in Munich in a purpose-built outdoor arena.
Weekends With Adele launched in November 2022 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and is expected to end in November this year.
Her series of sold-out shows at the venue, which seats around 4,000 people, was a success but also took its toll.
In July, she announced that she would be taking a “big break” from music after her string of upcoming shows.
Meanwhile, Céline made a triumphant return to live singing over the summer to close the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, amid her battle with stiff person syndrome (SPS).
She has spoken candidly about SPS, revealing her diagnosis in December 2022 after canceling her 2021 Las Vegas residency due to health concerns.
The condition is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that usually causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms, according to the Johns Hopkins Medicine website.
In March 2003, Céline launched her first residency at the Colosseum, playing 717 shows through December 2007.
She returned to the venue in March 2011 for her second stint, playing 424 shows before wrapping it up in June 2019.
