It might have some of the saddest scenes in TV history, but fans of This is Us have something else to cry about – it’s being removed from Netflix next month. But what’s prompted the change?
Mark your calendars for July, 8, 2025 – that’s the last day you’ll be able to watch This is Us on Netflix. The binge-worthy TV show follows Kevin, Kate, and Randall, three siblings who go through unique personal struggles at different intervals of life. After a tragedy from their past hangs over them, they try to move forward and find happiness.
As you can probably guess, it’s not exactly a cheery binge. Think the family and community aspect of Ginny & Georgia, Sweet Magnolias, and Virgin River, only with a lot more things to make you cry.
But soon, you won’t be able to watch it on the streaming service at all. Why is This is Us being removed from Netflix, and is there anywhere else you can watch it?
Why is This is Us leaving Netflix?

As HBO Max rebrands itself for the umpteenth time, it’s not surprising the streamer will want to enlarge its back catalog where possible. The same can be said for Disney+, adding more shows outside of the company’s IP to its platform in recent months.
