Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Upcoming actor, TC Virus, was rescued by passer as Eyewitness said he threw a bottle of Fanta into the River Niger before crossing with Junior Pope Odonwodo.
According to our source, Junior Pope died during a boat trip.
The boat capsized and he, alongside two other yet-to-be-identified actors, drowned. His body was recovered and rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
He also confirmed that the remains of a crew member were recovered while the bodies of three other crew members were yet to be recovered as they were five in the boat which capsized after colliding with another boat around the River Niger area in Anambra State.
Less than 24 hours ago, the actor put up a video of himself in a speed boat with no life jacket on with the caption: “See me lamenting the risk we take to entertain you, crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…who does that?” (sic)
The death of Junior Pope is the latest in a string of tragedies that has hit Nollywood this year.
Last month, ace thespians, such as Mr. Ibu and Sisi Quadri passed on.

“JUNIOR POPE: DEATH AND ITS MANY LESSONS.
It was a movie production trip across the Niger river using a speed boat…their boat colluded with a canoe…their speed boat capsized…they did not know how to swim, because both the boat and canoe sailors had long gone like tilapia fishes…four people survived.
One of the survivors looked at the movement and used 500 Naira to rent a life jacket since the production handlers did not provide any… the picture to my right, TC Virus got a bottle of Fanta ,whispered things and threw it into the river, he survived somehow…one held unto a rope tied to the boat whilst the last lady held unto him as they battled for their lives, before rescue came.
“Five others were nowhere to be found, they had drowned!…as I write, three bodies are yet to be discovered from the river, just two have been found after over two hours under the Niger river …one of them is Junior Pope Odowodo,😭😭😭my friend.
The few times I have spent with JP as he is fondly called, he struck me as a very careful and articulate person. He would not join you in taking anything,unless you explain it’s content. Only God knows why he embarked on such a journey without requesting for a life jacket, at his level in the movie industry.
“I know the general mantra will be that it’s God’s wish and that He giveth and taketh. Well and fine. But I’m just wondering why JP will go like this , in the same trip someone survived with a life jacket he rented for 500 Naira!.
Junior Pope, may your meek and gentle soul rest in peace, and may God help your family to survive this, especially your wife and your little boys you bring to Saint John-Mary Vianey Catholic Church the many Sundays we met in church.
One more thing, do not come here to tell me he is alive. I was there, you were not.”
