A 26-year-old man was arrested during a raid at a Soweto hostel on Thursday for the murder of a Johannesburg e-hailing taxi driver.
“A joint operation involving the JMPD (Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department ) Tactical Response Unit and the SAPS Gauteng Tracking Team led to the arrest of the suspect at Jabulani Hostel in Soweto. The suspect was identified based on information received regarding the fatal shooting incident that occurred in Lilly and Olivia Streets in Berea,” JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla said.
