Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Kaizer Chiefs player, Luke Fleurs, shot dead by unknown gunmen in car hijacking incident.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Luke Fleurs has reportedly died on Wednesday night. Fleurs is said to have been shot and killed in Florida, in a botched car hijacking.
A source close to the situation confirmed the news to Sunday World on Wednesday night.
“Yes, it is true, Luke was gunned down in a hijacking. Sad, very said,” said the informant.
Said SA Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo: “The police are waiting for information on the incident for now,” Masondo told Sunday World.
“We will comment further on the matter as soon as we gather the details thereof…”
The former SuperSport United defender joined Amakhosi in October right after Molefi Ntseki vacated his role as head coach last year.
A fourth commented: “I can’t believe this.”
A fifth typed: “He had is whole life ahead of him.”

Centre-back Fleurs joined the Joburg-based club from SuperSport United in October 2023.
But comments flooded in from heartbroken fans shocked and saddened by the awful news.
