An Israeli tourist was arrested red-handed on the Boipeba Islands, in the municipality of Cairu, for the crimes of racism and active corruption, on Tuesday (5). The man allegedly offended the porters at the Boipeba Atracadouro, calling them “monkeys”, and was detained by residents until the Military Police arrived. Upon being arrested, the tourist tried to bribe the police officers by offering R$300 to avoid arrest.

The arrest was carried out by police officers from the 33rd Independent Company (CIPM), and the suspect was taken to the local police station for legal action. A video circulating on social media shows the moment of arrest, in which the man is escorted by a military police officer, while other tourists and residents applaud the action.
