Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Cristiano Ronaldo pointed to Erling Haaland saying he deserves the award at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards.

Al-Nassr frontman Ronaldo, 38, was clearly proud to officially be last year’s top goal-getter in senior leagues.

The Manchester United legend notched 54 in 59 games – ahead of Kylian Mbappe’s 52 in 53 matches, Harry Kane’s 52 from 57 and Haaland’s 50 in 60.
Ronaldo used his podium speech to hint at a possible retirement in the future but also boasted about his own achievements while Haaland and his Man City team-mates watched on.

‘I was the best goalscorer. I had to beat the young lions, like Haaland for example, so I’m proud,’ stated Ronaldo.

‘And I still look good, so I’m proud,’ he added while smiling on stage.

The Al Nassr striker – formerly of Sporting Lisbon, Man United, Real Madrid and Juventus – revelled in the limelight as he held onto another individual title.

However, Haaland remained emotionless to the comments as cameras turned to show him with both arms resting on the side of his seat.

“I like when people doubt me again and then I’m successful. I don’t get affected by the criticism.”

There was a cheeky smile on the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s face.

But Haaland, 23, responded with a blank look that might have been mistaken for a death-stare – had he been looking at anyone in particular.

And in fact the Norwegian poacher quickly broke into a slightly happier smirk.
