Reactions as Burna Boy’s Johannesburg concert at the FNB Stadium, South Africa, cancelled after he sold 1500 tickets out of 90 000

Burna Boy’s Johannesburg concert at the FNB Stadium, South Africa has been officially canceled due to low ticket sales. Burna Boy sold out 1500 tickets out of 90 000.
So what could have gone wrong?

Some fans on social media are suggesting that the internet never forgets and that South African music fans may be reacting in this manner in retaliation for Burna Boy’s comment in 2019 against xenophobia in the country.

Burna had strongly condemned xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals living in the country and had said he would not perform in the country until further notice.

Joloff Burna Boy has decided to cancel his Nigeria show after it was posted due to South Africans rejecting his show.
Burna insulted South Africans and publicly announced that he would never visit South Africa, however, due to hunger he found his flat 4 corners head heading to South Africa to organize a show.

But according to official reports, the show was cancelled because of “ inability for the promoters to fulfil their contractual, financial, production and technical obligations”.

But in a rebuttal, Burna’s management company, Spaceship Management, said the concert’s promoters had failed to fulfil their financial, production, and technical obligations to the team.

“Sadly, it is with great regret that we must inform you that despite my team’s effort, the show in Johannesburg on September 23rd will be cancelled due to the inability of the promoters to fulfil their contractual, financial, production, and technical obligations,” the management said on behalf of the musician.

Production vendors had apparently not been paid on time.

Management conceded that the agreed production standard needed for the venue size could not be achieved.

TicketPro has seized all sale of tickets to the concert.
