Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Princess Salma of Jordan shot down 5 Iranian drones last night.
Jordan’s air force intercepted and shot down dozens of Iranian drones that violated its airspace and were heading to Israel, two regional security sources said.
They said the army was also in a state of high alert and radar systems were monitoring any drone activity coming from the direction of Iraq and Syria.
Residents in several cities in the northern part of the country near Syria and central and southern areas heard heavy aerial activity.
The Jordanian Armed Forces “will confront, supported by the security services and competent authorities, everything that endangers citizens, airspace and lands with all available capabilities,” it added.
According to Reuters, the Jordanian jets shot down drones flying over northern and central Jordan, with most being intercepted over the Jordanian side of the Jordan Valley while heading toward Jerusalem.
Others were shot down in the eastern part of the kingdom, close to the border triangle with Syria and Iraq.
