Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Nathan Mitchell will return to play a new iteration of Black Noir in The Boys S4.

Showrunner Eric Kripke shed light on the intricacies of “recasting” a character like Black Noir. Contrary to traditional recasting, Kripke clarified that Nathan Mitchell, the original actor behind Black Noir, would return in Season 4 but as a “different character who wears the Black Noir suit.” The previous occupant of the Noir suit, as per Kripke, is “gone,” paving the way for a fresh, interesting, and humorous character portrayed by Mitchell.

“I think contrast is really interesting, wherever you’re dealing with characters,” Mitchell elaborated. “And the core of Black Noir, for me, was always the contrast. The notion of, you have this super intense killer, right, who’s menacing and scary and threatening, and then like…he talks to cartoons. He has imaginary friends, he’s really soft and sensitive.”

Prepare for Season 4 in 2024
As anticipation builds for The Boys Season 4, scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2024, fans can expect a thrilling blend of old and new. The return of Black Noir, albeit in a transformed iteration, adds an exciting layer to the intricate world of The Seven, promising surprises and revelations as the acclaimed series continues its gripping narrative.

Mitchell discussed reprising his character, who appeared to be dead at the end of Season 3, in an interview with The Movie Dweeb. Initially shocked that the news about Black Noir’s return had already been revealed, Mitchell finally allowed himself to talk about going forward with his member of The Seven. “If we were going to play and remix the character, I think that everyone’s seen a very stoic version of Black Noir, so if they were going to do something new, I think it would be fun to go in the opposite direction.”
