On Saturday, September 28, the Global Citizen Festival returned to Central Park in New York City, uniting 60,000 Global Citizens, artists, and advocates for a powerful day of action and music. Hosted by Global Citizen, the world’s leading advocacy organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty, tickets to the Festival were free and could be earned by taking action through the Global Citizen app or at globalcitizenfestival.com.
The Global Citizen Festival has always been about harnessing the power of music and activism to drive real, tangible change. This year, bold and innovative steps were taken to further protect the planet, from powering the stage with clean energy to advocating for Indigenous-led projects preserving the Amazon, and rallying support for a global Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.
