Doja Cat, who is Black and Jewish, shared a new selfie today wearing a shirt that featured controversial figure Sam Hyde.

Hyde began his career as a try-hard stand up comedian in the mid 2010s, with routines that were rife with homophobic slurs, antisemitic conspiracy theories, and neo-Nazi terminology.

He rose to prominence when his Adult Swim show Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace premiered in August 2016 featuring his sketch comedy group Million Dollar Extreme. The show was cancelled four months later and Hyde claimed it was due to his support of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and also somehow blamed Jewish people??

Sam Hyde has long been associated with far-right activism and has faced accusations of promoting racism, homophobia, misogyny, and spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories. His alleged links to prominent white nationalists and neo-Nazis have drawn significant criticism. Hyde even donated $5,000 to the Daily Stormer, a widely condemned Nazi website.

The controversy erupted when Doja Cat shared an image of herself donning a shirt featuring Sam Hyde’s likeness. The image quickly spread across social media platforms, triggering a wave of backlash and criticism from her fans and the public. Critics accused Doja Cat of inadvertently or intentionally endorsing the controversial figure by wearing the shirt. In the face of mounting criticism, the singer made a surprising move by deleting the initial photo and reposting it with certain alterations.
