‘MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING – PART 2’ is no longer expected to keep that title

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that ‘MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING – PART 2’ is no longer expected to keep that title.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One grossed $172.1M domestic, $567.5M WW this past summer. That’s a lot of money to remove from the 2024 box office, but such is the nature of the business right now. Mission: Impossible 8 will get a three-week run in Imax and will be filmed with Imax digital cameras for the Imax format. Do you hear that loud and clear, Christopher Nolan and Universal? Left on June 28 next year is New Line’s Kevin Costner movie, Horizon: An American Saga Chapter One and Sony’s Horrorscope. On Mission: Impossible 8‘s new weekend in 2025, there’s currently an untitled Disney film.

Dead Reckoning, Part 2 stars Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, with Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Vanessa Kirby among those expected to return. The Mission franchise dates back to 1996’s original film, based on the 1960s TV show. It is known for filming in locales across the globe and for at least one signature Cruise stunt that often becomes the centerpiece of its marketing campaign.

Paramount also made a flurry of changes. A Quiet Place: Day One moved from March 8, 2024 to Dead Reckoning‘s old date of June 28, 2024.

Following Disney’s delay of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 due to the actors strike, Paramount has made changes to next year’s schedule and beyond.

Similar to Deadpool 3, Mission Impossible 8 ne Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two needs to restart production, and that is looking unlikely with each day that passes in the SAG-AFTRA strike. The Tom Cruise sequel moves from June 28, 2024 next year to May 23, 2025 Memorial Day. The studio will have to access to Imax screens and Memorial Day is a special place as that’s where Cruise launched his biggest movie of all-time, Top Gun: Maverick to $1.49 billion WW.
