Manheim’s mother, Camryn Manheim, is a well-known actress, best remembered for her role in the TV series The Practice. Milo spent much of his childhood on television sets, accompanying his mother to work, which sparked his interest in acting from a young age. At the age of six, he began his acting career in a local after-school program in Culver City.
Manheim’s passion for the performing arts led him to participate in numerous musicals with Liza Monjauze Productions, a local theatre group. Over the years, he starred in 20 different musicals, including classics such as Rent, Footloose, Tommy, A Chorus Line, Gypsy, and Spring Awakening. His talent and dedication were recognized when he won the “Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role” award at the 2017 New York Musical Theatre Festival for his role in the musical Generation Me.
Manheim’s breakthrough role came in 2017 when he was cast as the lead in the Disney Channel original movie Zombies, which premiered in February 2018. His portrayal of Zed, a zombie trying to fit into a human world, was a hit with audiences, and he reprised the role in the sequels Zombies 2 (2020) and Zombies 3 (2022). Manheim’s success in the Zombies franchise made him a household name among young viewers in the United States.
In addition to his acting career, Manheim is an avid participant in community service and charity work. He has volunteered with various organizations, including the Venice Family Clinic, which provides healthcare to low-income residents, and has worked with disabled students at McBride Elementary to get them involved in the arts.
