Chef Ebenezer Smith is currently in police custody at La police station for supposedly scamming Amadia Shopping Mall, one of the sponsors, out of over GHC350,000 during his cooking marathon.
According to our sources, Amadia Shopping Center sponsored the entire one month duration of his GWR attempt, but he refused to fulfill his part of the contract and rather introduced new management team to Amadia, after he concluded his attempt and became popular.Â
Chef Smith is reportedly the record holder for the longest individual cooking marathon, according to Guinness World Records.
The record was achieved in 802 hours and 25 minutes by him.
Chef Smith was taken into custody as he shared news of his groundbreaking success on Tuesday (2 July) at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
