Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Will Ferrell djing after he pulled up to his son’s USC frat party out of nowhere.

The Barbie actor has been an active USC alum since he graduated from the school in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in sports information. He delivered the commencement speech to the graduating class of 2017 and contributed to funding the first-ever full scholarship for the women’s soccer team with wife Viveca Paulin in 2018.

And it looks like Trojan blood runs in the family, as Ferrell and Paulin’s eldest child, son Magnus, 19, is currently enrolled at USC as a sophomore, according to his LinkedIn page.

‘This was not on my 2023 bingo card.’

‘Will Ferrell seems to be entering his Bill Murray-esque eccentric elder comic walks the earth era and I love this for him.’

‘I like how he’s never where you’d think he’d be.’

‘Prestige World Wide still going strong,’ wrote one fan, referencing the business Ferrell’s character launches alongside John C. Reilly’s in 2008’s ‘Step-Brothers.’

Saturday’s DJ set is hardly the first time the actor and comedian has shown what a cool dad he can be and poke fun at himself as well.

In 2022, Ferrell appeared on-stage with Magnus and his band for their debut performance, where the ‘SNL’ alum accompanied him on a cowbell.

The actor’s appearance and performance at a benefit concert was a reference to his infamous ‘SNL’ skit from 2000 involving Christopher Walken.

That sketch – aptly named ‘More Cowbell’ – stars Walken as a producer and Ferrell as a musician, who continues to add ‘more cowbell’ to the track being recorded. On Saturday, the actor and comedian, 56, was the DJ at a Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity tailgate party at the University of Southern California ahead of the football game against the University of Arizona Wildcats during Trojan Family Weekend.

In a TikTok video, the USC alum could be seen clapping alongside students to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” as he helmed the DJ booth. Ferrell was certainly dressed for the occasion, with his headphones worn on top of his backward USC red cap.

The video, which was eventually shared to X – formerly known as Twitter – by pop culture account @DiscussingFilm. shows the actor performing for the crowd.

Ferrell stands alongside several young men just behind a balcony where a Sigma Alpha Mu flag hangs as the group dances to the rap song.

According to school documents and a hashtag used on the original TikTok, Saturday’s festivities were part of USC’s parents’ and family weekend on campus.

It would appear that the proud dad and ‘Old School’ star took the invitation literally and decided to show his son that he can still get down with a young crowd.

Magnus can be seen in the clip standing just to the left of his dad and even checking in on at one point in the video, giving him a thumbs-up to see if he was okay.

Ferrell – who is wearing a USC jacket, red baseball hat, chunky headphones, and skinny sunglasses – responds by nodding and getting right back into the music. Although Magnus is pursuing a career in the music industry, Ferrell did reveal in a 2018 interview with Parade that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to his affinity for comedy.

“Last year, for his yearbook photo, he borrowed another kid’s glasses. He doesn’t wear glasses. There he is with this very serious look with glasses on,” Ferrell said of Magnus’ prank.

He recalled, “‘Like ‘Magnus, that is so subversive and funny. Totally my sense of humor.’ He’s like, ‘Am I in trouble?’ Like, ‘No, you’ve got to do it every year! Fantastic!'”
